Hi there! Welcome to The Word Explained, my latest attempt in setting up a blog to share with everyone my encounter with the Scripture. Like you , I am a student of the Word of God and our learning continues as long as we have breath.
To start with, my objective here is encapsulated in these three words: Read. Learn. Grow.
Reading is probably one of those skills that humans have learned. It is unfortunate, however, that reading has lost its appeal in this generation. The social media is more and more catering to the eyes for entertainment. Christians, on the other hand, should rediscover the wonders of reading, especially of the Scripture and many spiritual materials.
The Book of Revelation puts an emphasis on reading prophecies: Blessed is the one who reads, and those who hear the words of the prophecy and keep the things which are written in it; for the time is near. (Rev. 1.3) And William Branham said it most clearly the modern events are made clear by prophecy.
Learning should naturally come from our reading because, by its nature, reading is geared towards learning. (On the other hand, videos are designed to entertain.) God said this to the prophet Habakkuk: “Write down the vision and inscribe it clearly on tablets, so that one who reads it may run.” (Habakkuk 2.2)
Growth happens when we learn. We grow as we learn new ideas, concepts and truths that we can use to move forward in life. This is especially in our encounter with the Word of God. As we read, we learn, and as we learn we grow because life that is in the Word wants to express itself through us.
