We have been taught that love should be free for all, no-holds-barred ,and do what feels right or good for you. Nothing is farther from the truth. Rather, this kind of love has created more evil than good. It is like a “pandora’s box” from which come it all sorts of wil that is now destroying generations.
Read 2 John 5-8
5 Now I ask you, lady, not as though I were writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another.
6 And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you are to walk in it.
2 John 5-6
True love is bound to divine principles called commandments. True love is led and governed by God’s words, not by human impulses and feelings. Why? Because, while the latter fluctuates and changes, the former is consistent and steady through time and circumstance.
When love does not go by God’s commandment, it is prone to mistakes and, ultimately, failure. When love is led by God’s commands, the outcome is always righteousness, holiness and, ultimately, the glory of God.
