In the last few years there has been a growing interest in the archaeological works of Ron Wyatt who, many years before Google Maps and Google Earth, explored the possibility that Mount Sinai was located within the area of Saudi Arabia east of Aqaba.
This video was a recent exploration of the same area, conducted pastors and Bible scholars with the help of a local guide. Interestingly, they were inclined to believe that the Jabal Maqla is the mountain range of Exodus. many indications point to this possibility, including –
- the Red Sea crossing in the area of Nuweiba in the Sinai Peninsula. Under the sea, they found numerous and unusual coral formations that seemed to indicate sunk chariots.
- the oasis along the route where the Israelites drank on their journey
- the split rock in Rephidim
- the numerous altars and man-made rock mounds and arrangement at the foot of the mountain
- a large graveyard located only a few miles from the mountain but far away from the nearest settlement
On the other hand, these finds are mostly lacking in the traditional site, also known as Jebel Musa. This site was accepted without archeological study mostly because it was believed and approved by the Queen Helene, mother of the Emperor Constantine.
Watch and see for yourself.
